Carpets and clothes

Because of my moth enthusiasm (rather than expertise) I've just been asked to look at a small carept-based infestation in our local village hall. Here are pics of a couple of the offenders. Is this the Common Clothes Moth, Tinea bisselliella (maybe that should be rentokillia?)  Much obliged for advice. I have already told them about the UTM blog and hope they join its regular readers.  Martin Wainwright, Thrupp, Oxon

  1. I'm afraid it does look like it, Martin! The carpet is presumably of wool so I'd suggest they replace it with a man-made fibre if they want to prevent it re-appearing.

  3. The Common Clothes Moth is quite a rare moth, these days! I would call that a 'good' catch! Don't forget that they can continue to breed inside Hoover bags, especially if the Hoover only has occasional use.
