No need to panic yet

I had another typically poor result from the garden actinic trap last night, which produced eight moths of six species:  Brimstone Moth (1), Chocolate-tip (2), Pebble Prominent (1), Pale Tussock (1, new for the year), Muslin Moth (1) & Hebrew Character (2).  A check of my records shows that the Pale Tussock was my 90th garden species for 2016 and a quick look back at last year's sightings tells me that this is exactly the same number of species by 16th May as I had in the garden in 2015 ... which despite the slow start proved to be a record year here.  Things will get better!
