Some new moths for the year

As other people have mentioned, last night's warmer temperatures brought out a few moths at long last. My garden actinic trap attracted 19 individuals, and new for the year were singles of Muslin Moth, Nut-Tree Tussock, Lunar Marbled Brown, Poplar Grey and a Spectacle.

There was also 4 pugs. I always struggle identifying pugs, but the one below was the least worn and I think it is an Oak-Tree Pug (the fw measured just under 10mm). What do the experts think?

  1. I don't know about the experts (is anyone an expert at ID'ing pugs from pictures?!), but that looks like Oak-tree Pug to me and the size certainly fits well.
