A couple of micro queries

I had quite a few tricky micros to identify in the garden trap this weekend. Is this first one Argyresthia spinosella?

The next one I am stuck on. The forewing measured slightly less than 5mm.

Finally, is this moth possibly a faded Eudonia angustea?

  1. It has just occurred to me that the second specimen might actually be a microcaddis.

  2. No, you are safe, Steve, it is a moth! That's Bucculatrix nigricomella. The last one is Eudonia pallida. I'm not all that sure about the Argyresthia from that image but you could well be right if you've ruled out semifusca.

  3. Thanks Dave. I should have recognised the Eudonia pallida. I think the Bucculatrix has foxed me before!
I will hang on to the Argyresthia for checking.
