More museum moths

Not a huge amount of stuff around the museum last night again, but new for the year were Green Carpet, Orange Footman, Brimstone, Muslin, White-point, Common Swift and lots of Treble Lines, plus Cochylis atricapitana in the micro world.

Also, this, if anyone can help with an id (retained if needed):

Plus this randomly spotted during the day... thinking Pammene regiana?

  1. Hi Dave, the top one looks like an Elachista, possibly apicipunctella but it would need a better picture to be sure so probably best if you hang to it for Peter. Did you keep the tortrix? It will probably be Pammene regiana as you say, but looks to me to be a possible candidate for trauniana which isn't yet known from Bucks although it is in surrounding counties.

  2. Thanks Dave. I wasn't in a position to retain the second one, so just a phone pic. I'll keep an eye out tomorrow just in case I see it again! (fat chance). It was on a hedge of Field Maple.
