Sharp-angled Peacock

I think that this is a Sharp-angled Peacock, which I had in my garden in Beenham, Berks a few days ago. What do others think? If I'm correct in this, then I seem to be seeing this more than the Peacock itself over the last couple of years.

  1. Yes indeed, Derek, that's Sharp-angled Peacock which has the paw print rather poorly formed as well as that more obvious grey band in which it sits, and the line around the edge of the hind-wing is dashed rather than solid. It seems to have been creeping into our area from the south for a couple of years, although hasn't yet reached Bucks!

  2. Thanks for putting up the picture - nice to get a direct comparison of what to look out for.
