Found at Dancersend yesterday after Sue Taylor's Superwoman eyes spotted it! Is it Elachista bisulcella? The termen fringe doesn't look at all yellowish, as mentioned in the books. If it is confirmed it's another new reserve record.
Hello Mick, that's Elachista gangabella (there are many more Elachista species than those shown in the field guide). On the plus side, it should also be an addition to the Dancersend list! There are seven or eight previous records for Bucks, fairly widely spaced (including Bernwood and the Ivinghoe hills) so it is probably under-recorded. A nice find.
