Acleris comariana?

Is this likely to be A. comariana, or would it require genital dissection to determine? (or is it something else completely different!)

  1. Hello Keith,

That's actually Acleris variegana. Unusually, this rather smart form of it seems to be the most dominant one at the moment, especially in my garden. It does look rather reminiscent of Acleris laterana/comiarana which, as you suggest, would need dissection to separate.
