Marlow Bottom 20th July

I put the trap out last night for the first time in a week. A reasonable selection and a new moth for the garden: Assara terebrella.

Thorns are picking up now, with 10 August and my first two Dusky of the year. It was also pleasing to get a couple of Acompsia schmidtiellus after my first records last year. Another Recurvaria nanella was joined by a R. leucatella.  Cydalima perspectalis also seems to be increasing here now, with five seen.

Contra to others traps it seems, mine has not been inundated with noctuids - my count of Dark Arches, Uncertain/Rustic and Heart and Dart together totalled 23. Most numerous were Endotricha flammealis and Riband Wave, both with counts of 24.
