A Blog for moth recorders in Bucks, Berks and Oxon
Hi there,
I don't even hazard a guess at this - can anyone help, please? They are all of the same specimen. Sorry the photos aren't better! Thanks, David
Hello David,The orangey head and arrangement of spots on the forewing suggest Tinea pellionella to me (one of the "clothes moths"). It is quite common but unfortunately there are a few related but much rarer species with which it could be confused.
Many thanks, Dave - much appreciated!David
