7 July brought three moths in my Oxford garden that have defied identification by me this time and would welcome any thoughts. Andrew

1. Medium-sized active micro

2. Two pictures here of a very small moth

3. A tortrix? The head was squashed in the catching of this one.

  1. No. 1 is Euzophera pinguis.

  2. Hello Andrew,
As Nigel says, the first is Euzophera pinguis, while the second is Anarsia innoxiella. I'm afraid the last one is a bit too far gone to be certain what it is.

Don't forget to add a title to each post (it is supposed to go in the space above the tool-bar, not exactly the most intuitive position!), while it would also be helpful if you could crop the images so that we see more of the moth itself rather than lots of background.

  3. Thank you very much, as ever. I realised that the last was a bit damaged. I will look about titles and cropping. Sorry, still rather a novice on some of the technicalities.
