Oncocera semirubella?

At Linford Lakes Nature Reserve this morning lurking amongst the grass moths in my 40W Skinner type trap which ran over night was this which I think is a worn Oncocera semirubella.  Its new to me and to the site if it is.

  1. Yes, that's correct Gordon - a lovely moth! It has spread widely over the last couple of years and you no longer need to be on chalk down-land to find it. The larvae feed on bird's-foot trefoil so it could really turn up anywhere. I now get it regularly in the garden (half a dozen or so already this year).
