Amongst a promising haul from my MV trap in WHEATLEY on Saturday night were the following three moths new to me. Chamomile Shark, Great Prominent and Poplar Lutestring ? Am I correct ?
Hi Richard, Correct on all three! Chamomile Shark is a really nice garden record because although fairly widespread across our region it seems to be one of those species which is reluctant to come to light. The last time I trapped in Bernwood Forest (2nd May) Poplar Lutestring was just starting to fly and Great Prominent was still around in some numbers (50+ seen), so either there or maybe some of the woods closer to you might be the source of those two.
