I think this could be Bulrush Wainscot. I don't think is any Typha within a couple of miles of my home near woodland in Milton Keynes but the guides say they do disperse widely.
Hello Janice, Yes, that's Bulrush Wainscot and it can literally turn up anywhere. You have several good wetland sites around MK but this moth is just as happy using a few bulrushes growing in a ditch as it is a large reed-bed.
