Mocha on Cholesbury Common

 Hi there,

I know this is not a common species, but I'm not sure how unusual it is round here. It came to light in an edge-of-woodland garden on Saturday night.

Best wishes

  1. Hi David,
Despite being a Nationally Scarce species, Mocha is reasonably widespread throughout the Bucks Chilterns, so there's no real reason why it shouldn't appear at Cholesbury. The larvae feed in field maple which is found everywhere so there must be other factors at play which make it scarce.
