Mompha langiella in the bathroom

This afternoon I was surprised to pot a single Mompha langiella from the inside of our bathroom window. There are 4 previous modern records for VC23. The MV runs almost directly below but has not been used for over 3 weeks. There is very little in the way of potential foodplant around and it is very unlikely that it hitched a ride home with me. I have no facilities to take usable photos of a thing that size.

  1. Hi Martin,

Nice record! I agree it would be unlikely that you'd find Enchanter's Nightshade locally to you but I imagine there will be some of the willow-herbs around which it apparently also uses.

Regarding photos, a lot of my pictures these days are taken with the small and relatively inexpensive Olympus TG6 which is perfect for a technophobe like me and I find it is really good at macro photography. I know you have a busy work life and may not have the time or inclination to add something like this to your armoury of equipment, but it might be worth considering.

  2. Oh, I'm sorry I hadn't realised this was a forum for suggesting what I do with my money. Anyone else care to chip in?
