Jersey Tigers and a micro query
I see Dave Wilton has beaten me to it with posting a picture of a Jersey Tiger. I had 3 on top of my garden trap this morning - all of the standard red hindwing variety. The last time I recorded a Jersey Tiger was on exactly the same date (7th Aug) in 2018.
I can't make my mind up about the tortrix below. Is it Spilonota ocellana or something else? Help appreciated. The forewing measures 9mm.

Hello Steve,
ReplyDeleteYour tortrix is a nicely-marked Cydia splendana.
Ah, of course. Many thanks Dave.
