Sorry for the out of region post, but couldn't resist sharing this picture. My sister, who lives near Flamstead, Herts, disturbed what she described as about 50 moths from a roost under some crates and took a photo of the ones that remained. I've never seen so many Old Lady moths....

Nice one. I can make out 14 left in that picture, so 50 or more is quite possible if the majority of them were disturbed. They do seem to roost together in out-buildings etc during their flight season although I've not heard of quite as many as this in one spot! In Bucks the most recorded together like that seems to be five seen under a bridge in Winslow back in 2004 so I'm sure Colin Plant, as Herts County Recorder, would be interested. Will you be passing on the details or would you like me to do it for you?
