Micro curiosities from Iver?

The first of these I had thought was a Mother of Pearl - but it objected to the tube and left in a hurry when I took the top off.  So not a great photo, but enough to see something different.

This second could perhaps be a Rush Veneer?

Any advice appreciated!

  1. Barnaby, I wait on confirmation but I think your first one is a dark form of Cydalima perspectalis (Box Moth), I think the second isn't a rush veneer, I was thinking Homoeosoma sinuella - but as I say I'm a beginner, wait for someone more experienced to confirm

  2. Mark is correct on both counts, Barnaby. Cydalima perspectalis and Homoeosoma sinuella.
