Just checking.........
Set the Robinson trap in my Sonning garden for the first of the three National Moth Nights and caught 27 macro species, including these two which I think are a faded Rustic Shoulder-knot (it is the right size with angular, scallop-ended wings and a hint of a shoulder knot mark), and a faded Freyer's Pug - very large for a pug with a wingspan of 26 mm. Please could anyone confirm/correct me?

Hello Alastair, yes to Rustic Shoulder-knot but I'd be reluctant to pronounce on a faded Pug! That said, the shape (and size you give) do suggest Freyer's and there seems to be a hint that it once had an abdominal band.
