This moth, caught here last night, certainly appears to me to be an Obscure Wainscot, but as I haven't seen one of these before I would appreciate confirmation and/or comments.
Thanks, Martin. It has probably come out a bit darker than in real life, due to limitations of camera (and camera operator), so I think I will ask Peter to check it out, just to be sure.
It is a fairly dark example, but I think you are correct.

DeleteGood idea to keep it, Richard, because it doesn't look like a "typical" specimen, but I don't see what else it could be.
