Banbury

With the warm weather we've been having I am happy to have finally trapped some new macro species. On Sunday night (24th) I had Small Ranunculus to my garden trap whilst last night (25th) I added Leopard Moth and Obscure Wainscot.

New for me species from my field site include Luquetia lobella (15th), Homoeosoma sinuella (19th), Gypsonoma oppressana (19th) and Round-winged Muslin on the 24th.

  1. Nice to get Small Ranunculus! I've had it just the once here, five years ago, and I remember finding it sitting on the garden fence rather than being in/around the trap. Here in Bucks, following the moth's post-millennium re-appearance in the UK there are getting on for 120 records since the first in 2004 but take away those from urban areas (Slough, Wycombe, Aylesbury, MK) and you are left with very few.
