Hi Mark, That is indeed Elegia similella and, I would suggest, a very nice garden record. Prior to Littleworth Common where I had half a dozen of them, I'd only seen it at six other locations in Bucks and always as singletons either in oak woodland (including Bernwood which isn't all that far from you) or on heathland with oaks around. Perhaps your example was a wanderer from Bernwood, Shotover or Bagley.

thanks Dave. I suspect Shotover is one of the sources of some of the moths here. I've also had Silver-Washed Fritillary.
