Updates Dichrorampha acuminatana and Silver Cloud

Just to confirm. The final image on my post of 2nd June was indeed Dichrorampha acuminatana
as suggested by Nigel. Confirmed by dissection - Thanks Peter.

My record of a Silver Cloud earlier this year was pleasing. However, I have just heard that someone who runs a trap in his garden about 4 miles from here, but just over the Warwickshire border, had 30 this year. It looks as if they might be on their way.

  1. Regarding Silver Cloud, it would be nice to know they are expanding their range. As you know, I live in Herefordshire these days and it is a common sight in the garden moth trap. Never more than a couple, but very regular. 2 forms to look out for as well, the dark form isn't the "typical" one, but is the commoner of the two. Over 300 county records (in a very under recorded county).
