Tackley Pugs

I'm hopeless at Pugs!

I know this little beauty
Lime-speck pug

Thyme pug?

Toadflax pug?

Angle-barred pug.

  1. Hi Alan,
Agree with you on the Lime-speck Pug.
    Pass on the next.
Can't make my mind up on Toadflax/Foxglove. The outer edge of the cross band looks straight on the left wing, where it approaches the costa, yet it's indented on the right. If you've still got the moth can you post an overhead shot?
Last one: I think it's an Ochreous Pug.

Note: pugs, especially at this time of year, are difficult to identify from photos. Some idea of size is a big help, I photograph them against a ruler.

  2. The second and fourth both look like Ochreous Pug to me.
