Your little critter is a Harmonia axyridis (Harlequin ladybird) larva.
Looks like Hedya ochroleucana Steve, bw, Marc
I agree with Marc on the tortrix. Not a species I see regularly at all, despite it supposedly being common.Harlequin larvae are everywhere in my garden at the moment. Sadly it looks like being a very good year for them.
Many thanks everyone, Those tortrix are remarkably similar and obviously a seasoned eye is so important, Those little things that you find in your trap are also interesting in expanding your knowledge making me realise how little I know.
