Not much to go on there, Dave, but the wing shape and what's left of the markings suggest Green Pug to me. Sometimes it doesn't take them long to lose their green scales and turn grey.
...and Bird's Wing is on my garden "wish list"! It is a south Bucks speciality.
Thanks, Dave for the suggestion on the pug. I don't understand why Bird's Wings aren't in the north of Bucks as they are in the Midlands.
