Is this Taleporia tubulosa?

I had this small moth come to actinic light in the garden last night. I think it is a male Taleporia tubulosa, a moth I have not seen before.
When inspecting some herbs in the garden yesterday, I found 2 of these caterpillars on salad burnet. Is this the Knot Grass larva?

  1. Hi Steve,
Yes to both. Taleporia tubulosa is supposed to be common but I don't see it all that often. It is an occasional visitor to my traps in Bernwood Forest and I've found the cases on beech trunks in woods around Marlow.
