Rather a tatty specimen but it does have a grey band running through the paw-print marks so I'm tending towards Sharp-angled which would a new species for this site. Comments please or does it need to have its bits examined?

Hi Richard,
ReplyDeleteI think there's a chance it is Sharp-angled but it is so worn that dissection would be required. I'm sure you referred to the on-line atlas and saw that there is, as yet, a distinct lack of records of that species for Bucks!
Thanks Dave. Yes, I checked and saw that Sharp-angled is rare in Bucks! I'll keep it for Peter to check it out.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fine for Sharp-angled to me. The bits aren't always very helpful with these, or at least not easy to interpret.
ReplyDeleteBut I can ID them from dissection
ReplyDeleteThank you Martin and thank you Peter - I've included it in the next batch for you, which is very nearly complete
