After a bit of initial head scratching, I sort of came to the conclusion that micro 1 is probably an atypical Aleimma loeflingiana (with a ghosting of the usual markings).
My garden borders a rough field (this year with unmown grass) and I catch a procession of S. pyralella. Micro 2 has markedly less contrast and is perhaps a candidate for ambigualis?
Micro 3 (Morophaga choragella) 3 is new for the garden.
Hi Keith,
ReplyDeleteYes to all three. Aleimma loeflingiana does vary considerably and that's quite a nice form of it that you have there.
Hi Keith, For me, moth 2 has the hallmarks of a (faded) S. pyralella.
