Hello Mark, I've had cinctella, larseniella and taeniolella in the garden over the past three years, all confirmed by dissection, so habitat isn't necessarily a guide to where they may turn up (by the way, they're Aproaerema now, rather than Syncopacma). Taeniolella should be identifiable by looking at the underside (refer to the Field Guide), but otherwise dissection is the only way forward so in the absence of a specimen you are correct to record as the aggregate.
