Hi there,
With the new edition of the Berks Micro book in hand, I'm trying to work out which of the Acleris species this is. With its triangular dorsal blotch at 1/3, I'm heading towards A.variegana. But the two partially obscured dots at the edges of the same blotch suggest laterana. With such a variable group, is there enough here to be certain?
Many thanks, David
Hi David,
ReplyDeleteNot variegana, but it is one of the laterana/comiarana pair which need dissection to separate. It will almost certainly be laterana which is far more common and widespread than comiarana in our area.
