Acleris species?

 Hi there,

With the new edition of the Berks Micro book in hand, I'm trying to work out which of the Acleris species this is. With its triangular dorsal blotch at 1/3, I'm heading towards A.variegana. But the two partially obscured dots at the edges of the same blotch suggest laterana. With such a variable group, is there enough here to be certain?

    Hi David,
    Not variegana, but it is one of the laterana/comiarana pair which need dissection to separate. It will almost certainly be laterana which is far more common and widespread than comiarana in our area.
