Can't find anything that looks like this in the Berks book or the field guide. I even tried the macro field guide for those tiny beasts that I'm sure I sometimes overlook. What am I missing, please?
Size was about right (a little over 1cm) as is wing-shape at rest. I discounted SMW because there was no sign of pink in the oval or kidney mark, but maybe my specimen is worn or never had that colour at all? Not sure what else it could have been? Thanks for your responses. A new moth for me.
It looks like it might be a Small Mottled Willow?
ReplyDeleteCheck it against Peter's suggestion. What is the size?

Would be worth keeping for confirmation. If you still have it.
ReplyDeleteSmall Mottled Willow - no doubt.
