This is turning out to be quite a productive year's trapping in my garden in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire. As of today, I'm a dozen species from my previous record for species found in a year in the garden (OK, this is only my third year in this garden; but I suspect it's also going to overtake many of the totals from my previous, nearby, but much more productive garden over the previous seven years).
Last night's catch included a species new to me and which I didn't at first recognise: a rather handsome Bordered Straw, presumably a recent immigrant. Hopefully a forerunner of some interesting migration activity in the next few days.
