There was a Puss Moth in my trap this morning. I haven't seen anyone else reporting one so far this year and the books suggest May-July as the usual flight period, so perhaps this is an early sighting. Anyway, it was a fine moth and I was pleased to see it.
Hi John, It is rather early but I've seen one or two others recorded over the past few days elsewhere in the country. 5th April 1997 is actually the earliest Bucks records and there are a few others spread across the month, but all mine have been from May onwards.
Magnificent, hope it flies west next!
