Larvae of the Boxworm Moth

Larvae of the Boxworm Moth are busy in my garden. Each one seemed to have made itself a little tube of leaves and webbing, and withdrew into it when I peered closely at it. Last year, I caught the moths themselves in my actinic light trap, but none so far this year.

  1. Hi John,
I think they over-winter as early- to mid-instar larvae so there won't have been any adults around yet, but I'm sure they'll be along in your trap soon enough!
