Hi John Yes very early indeed. The Atlas phenology chart shows only a single record in May and that right at the end of the month. This record should enter the system. Could you possibly arrange for it to be entered into iRecord or send me the grid reference please (assuming it is in VC 23)?
I had two caterpillars feeding in the garden on May 9th. I'm not sure how long it takes to pupate and emerge.

DeleteI noticed on Twitter yesterday that there was one trapped in Northants as well.
ReplyDelete...and an adult was photographed in Reading on 16th May. Yet another species getting earlier and earlier.
