Even though, as usual, the forecast cloud-cover failed to materialise, it stayed reasonably warm and the moon remained low and behind trees here so the conditions last night were about as good as it gets for the time of year. 43 species came to light, of which a dozen were new for the garden year-list:
Tinea trinotella,
Aethes smeathmanniana,
Syndemis musculana,
Evergestis forficalis, Lesser Treble-bar, Peacock Moth, Poplar Hawk-moth, Small Elephant Hawk-moth, Buff Ermine, Mullein, Common Wainscot & Rustic Shoulder-knot. I've added pictures of the Lesser Treble-bar to yesterday's post from Westcott so that the two species are shown together.
