A few micros

Some improvement in the last couple of nights here in Wolvercote, Oxfordshire, and species such as Small Blood-vein and Anania perlucidalis have joined the year list. Not surprisingly a few tricky micros have turned up, and some of them may prove unidentifiable; but as ever, all suggestions or corrections would be very welcome. The first looks to me like a possible Bryotropha affinis, and was about 5mm long; the second and third, although they both look reasonably distinctive (the second especially), elude me completely; the third might be some sort of Cydia?

  1. Hello Steve,

The first is Bryotropha affinis and the second is one of the many forms of Epinotia nisella, but the third doesn't ring any bells and seems to be too washed-out to identify with any certainty.

  2. Thanks, Dave -- should have realised about the Epinotia...
