Confirmations please

I think I have Willow Beauty again - the lines don't quite meet but I think that's still what it is. No Mottled Beauties at all this year.

Then a White-point rather than Clay even though the point isn't particularly round. Getting a few of these lately.

Finally Cochylis molliculana? Seems to be now one of the commonest micros I get. (What happened to all the grass moths this year?)

  1. Hello Mark,

Yes to Willow Beauty, White-point and Cochylis molliculana. I know every site is different and for all manner of reasons, but I find it quite amazing that you've missed out on Mottled Beauty this year. There's been no shortage of grass-moths here either!

  2. Regarding grass moths this year we have left some areas of our lawn to grow for the summer and had over a hundred chrysoteuchia culmella one night
To the best of my knowledge I haven't had a Mottled Beauty either.

  3. It's all very odd. There was an overgrown copse that was felled but it was tiny. Can't fathom why some of the grass feeders aren't around.
