That's a Dusky Thorn, Nic. I know things can and do vary considerably from site to site but I'd be surprised if you hadn't had it already. It is certainly by far the most regular of the Thorns in my garden (60+ here so far this year since the first on 22nd July) and August/September usually only appear in ones and twos if at all. Dusky Thorn did suffer a substantial decline a decade or two ago (I had none at all in 2010) but seems to have recovered very well in our area.
