Ash Bud Moth 2 nd attempt

 With a combination of fridge & freezer I got a better shot. I can't see any clear hint of Ash Bud moth patterning but the head is definitely grey rather than orange. It is now of course long gone.

Then I went back to one of the original shots below, turned up the brighten and turned up the contrast and a pattern emerges.

  1. I think I can see some the outline of some markings there now, Mark, which would suggest that it is the dark form of Prays fraxinella rather than Prays ruficeps.
