3.25 moths

First a micro, awful pics but on opening up the trap it was gone in a minute. I was thinking Scrobipalpa acuminatella?

Then what I think is a Knot Grass, the white marks aren't too clear but I think they are there.

The 0.25 of a moth, I'm thinking Pebble Hook-tip? Pity it's a nice moth and I don't often get it.

Finally something I wanted to see for a while, an Alder Moth.

  1. Hi Mark,
The general shape of the micro should tell you that it is a tortrix rather than a gelechid and it looks to me as though it is a Dichrorampha species, although I wouldn't like to say which one (several of them need dissection to get safely to species). You are correct with Knot Grass and the quarter of a Pebble Hook-tip!

  2. thanks Dave, I didn't realise until I blew the picture up that there is what looks like a fold in the wing.
