Some micros from last night

Photo 1 Eucosma cana or maybe E. hohenwartiana agg.?

Photo 2 Is this Argyresthia spinosella? If so it would be the first addition to my garden list this year apart from a couple of micros and Clearwings to pheromone lures.

Photos 3,4 and 5

This moth is 6.5mm in length. Image 5 is of the living moth - it was very lively and escaped several times. The other 2 images are of the dead moth.

  1. Hi Andy,
The Eucosma does appear to be one of the hohenwartiana group so worth keeping for dissection (if female). The Argyresthia is indeed spinosella while your mystery moth looks to me like one of the conifer feeders from the same family, probably laevigatella based on size and head colour, but another that would be worth keeping to be properly checked.
