The moths have pulled out all the stops for a visit by the grandchildren - lots of lovely things in the trap after recent hard times. My standing in the little ones' eyes would go up if I could tell them, with due acknowledgement, what the two moths and very hungry caterpillar below are. All help much appreciated. Hi Martin, the top photo in your query list is a faded Yellow-barred Brindle.

Hi Martin, Yellow-barred Brindle, then one of the variants of the Seraphim - and I'm wondering if the caterpillar is the Satellite (from the white spots on a dark body - see e.g., Hants moths website).
ReplyDeleteThanks so much both - apologies for the delay; grandchildren on the rampage. I'm specially pleased to have the cattie ID-ed as the said grandchildren can now take it to London, confident of having a foodplant supply. They have also learned the meaning of 'omnivorous' Thanks again! M
