Anyone else getting more Privet Hawks than usual?

I normally get a few in any year here in Longwick but above is a photo of three of the four that were in this mornings trap. They have also been present in ones and two for a few days. Not sure whether it is the weather or the extra lock down effort! The kids love them. Not much else to report except my first two Scarlet Tigers.

  2. In a word, no! But then again it has only been an annual in my garden since 2011 and last year's tally of nine singletons over the season is the highest I've ever achieved. I've had seven so far this year, again all as singletons, including one last night. However, I was sent a picture by my son-in-law in Aylesbury today of two found resting on their shed, so maybe it is having a better season than normal away from Westcott!

  3. Sadly, I'm getting exactly the same number as I always get here which is none. I'm usually in Wales at this time of year where I'll get 3-4 a week in my mum's garden.
