Dingy White Plume?

I think this moth, in my trap here last night, may be a Dingy White Plume (Merrifieldia baliodactylus - although I believe the scientific name may have changed).  Any comments welcomed and I still have the moth if it warrants closer examination:

  1. Thanks, Peter. A new species for my garden.

  2. Yes, looks good to me too, Richard. It is fairly widespread in the southern half of Bucks. There are about 60 records for the county, nearly all post-millennium and about half have been dissected to confirm, although I don't think there's any need to keep this one.

    1. Thanks for the information, Dave. Not as uncommon as I had imagined and I've released it
