id help please micro moths traffic light caterpillar!
Hi I'd be grateful for id help please with these 2 micro moths from my garden trap in Jordans (sorry poor photos) and a 10mm hairy caterpillar with red/orange and green spots living happily on my broad bean plant. Many thanks
The first moth is an Ephestia species and is 99% likely to be Ephestia woodiella although for a new site it is generally best to get one dissected to be absolutely sure. The second moth looks to me like Bryotropha terrella. The caterpillar is a mid-instar Vapourer Moth and they'll eat a wide range of plant species.
