Crambus? Plus Dingy Shears & rare beetle

Can someone positively ID this Crambus I caught yesterday?

Also got a Dingy Shears yesterday, but the star of the show was a beetle that as an afterthought I photographed and has been ID'd as the rare Pseudocistela ceramboides .

  1. Hi Mark,

The Crambus is lathoniellus which surely you must have been getting for the past month? It is generally the first of the "grass moths" to appear.

That's a smart-looking beetle. Not one I've had to light but that's apparently how it is often seen.

  2. hi, no Crambus at all so far. Only grass moth that has appeared is Chrysoteuchia culmella and then only a couple of singletons.
