Pug & Micro ID

From trap last night, North Leigh, Witney.

Struggling to identify these two. Any help would be appreciated.....

  1. Hi Nic,

For the pug we'd need to know the size and even then it might not be do-able from a photo. However, to me the picture gives the impression of it being a fairly large species (that might be incorrect of course!) and it is rather worn, but Pimpinel Pug springs to my mind. What do others think?

The micro is a rather worn Ditula angustiorana.

  2. At first glance, I thought the markings and body colour resembled Slender Pug, but as you say, size is important.

  4. Assuming this is quite a large pug, I think it goes down as Yarrow Pug. There are only a few records but they are widely spread. I had one recently in my garden in Oxford.
